The film is produced by Omnipolis Media, in collaboration with Florida Film.
Making-Of:
Omnipolis Media
Founded in 2016, Omnipolis Media has been operating since early summer 2017. The company is developing media projects to advance our understanding and awareness of the need for transformation to truly sustainable politics and economics, both socially and ecologically.
Martin Oetting (Director/Writer/Producer)
After starting his career in advertising, Martin Oetting has helped build the practice of word-of-mouth marketing for over a decade, and also wrote a doctoral dissertation about word of mouth. His blog was one of the leading marketing blogs in the early days of social media in Germany. He left the marketing field in early 2016. Today, he is building Omnipolis Media, a transformational media company. The focus of his work is the climate emergency, economic thinking that is adapted to the needs of the 21st century, and new approaches to storytelling for a better future.

In the production of “Purpose”, we were supported by:
Jan-Peter Heusermann (Co-Director/Producer)
Jan-Peter has years of experience in documentary film making. The current shape and finalisation of “Purpose” is due to a large extent to his invaluable help. He joined the project — in collaboration with Florida Film (see below) — once shooting had wrapped. Over the course of four years, he helped Martin hone and refine his ideas for both the edit and all other areas of post production, not to mention providing his experience for lots of auxiliary issues. His contribution was so substantial that he is now credited as co-director of the film.
Florida Film
Florida Film’s creative mastermind and seasoned film maker Lars Jessen has co-produced the film. The company was created in 2019 by two established German production houses: Florida Entertainment, the award-winning TV entertainment producer (“Late Night Berlin”, “Joko & Klaas gegen ProSieben”, “15 Minuten”, “Wer stiehlt mir die Show?”), and Bird & Bird Film, a fiction and documentary film company. Florida Film produces television series, feature films and documentaries. In the past three years, the company has developed and produced three seasons of the TV comedy series “Check. Check”, three improvised TV film productions — “Für Immer Sommer 90”, “Kranitz – bei Trennung Geld zurück”, “Das Begräbnis” — and the feature film “Mittagsstunde”, based on the novel of the same name by Dörte Hansen. In 2021, “Für Immer Sommer 90” won the renowned Grimme Prize as well as the German Television Award (“Deutscher Fernsehpreis”).
Florida Film is currently developing several fictional and non-fictional films and series for the German and for international markets.
